Anisetta Meletti is a distillate of anise seeds and other natural flavors from the Piceno area (Marche), produced according to the original recipe created way back in 1870 by Sir Silvio Meletti. A sweet liqueur, delicious neat or in coffee, thirst-quenching with ice and water, it's often used in desserts and cocktails. Anisetta Meletti was created and first produced in 1870 by Silvio Meletti, who perfected and improved an anise-based liqueur artisanally produced in his mother's small shop. Anisetta Meletti is a product with strong local roots. The anise plants (Pimpinella Anisum), from which the seeds used in distillation are obtained, are grown in the clayey soil of the Marche hills.
