La distilleria Laphroaig è una delle più amate realtà nel panorama degli Scotch Whisky e sorge nell'affascinante cornice dell'isola di Islay, nella parte occidentale della Scozia. Nasce nel lontano 1815 ed è oggi un punto di riferimento per gli amanti del Whisky fortemente torbato, affumicato e ricco di complessità.
La distilleria può vantare ancora metodi di produzione rigorosamente artigianali, senza l'ausilio di tecnologie per l'automatizzazione dei processi, effettuando lente distillazioni nei classici alambicchi di rame.
Nonostante i secoli di storia e i tanti cambiamenti a livello proprietario, Laphroaig è riuscita a mantenere un successo e una continuità nel suo stile che rendono i suoi whisky tra i più ricercati e bevuti al mondo.
