Nero di Troia Riviera 'Puer Apuliae' 2014 takes its name from Frederick II of Swabia, the 13th-century emperor who, with Castel del Monte, earned a place in human memory. This wine, of great elegance and unmistakable character, is truly a child of Puglia, as it is made from a now-forgotten Nero di Troia clone selected by Rivera in her Tafuri vineyard. Modern winemaking and extensive aging in new barriques yield a wine with characteristic aromas such as violets and star anise. The result is a powerful yet remarkably fine wine.
