Gianfranco Fino's Primitivo di Manduria 'Es' is a wine for those who appreciate very fruity yet full-bodied wines. The Primitivo grapes, grown on 60-year-old vines on red soil, are left on trellises for a light drying process. After destemming, the grapes are macerated in steel tanks and then transferred to French oak barrels. The barrels are both used and new, and the wine, subjected to daily batonage, ages in them for nine months.
