The Sangiovese 'Petrignone' Riserva Tre Monti is produced from vines planted in 1968 in sandy-clay soils in the Oriolo subzone, making this wine the most saline and balsamic of the winery's reds. Maceration lasts 12 days at 28°-30°C, followed by malolactic fermentation in glass-lined steel and cement vats. Aged in second- and third-use medium-toasted Allier barriques for six months.
