Taste tasting
The sip is characterized by aromas of cooked agave, vanilla, apple and cinnamon with a delicately spicy finish.
Tequila Fortaleza Reposado was born in 1999 when Guillermo Sauza, Don Javier's grandson, decided to reopen what seemed like a museum of tequila production stuck in the 1940s and began artisanally producing tequila exactly as it was then. Twenty years earlier, Don Javier Sauza had sold his two most modern distilleries to Beam Suntory, leaving behind the third: a small distillery with a steam-heated stone oven, an animal-drawn tahona for grinding cooked agaves, wooden fermentation vats, and a very limited-capacity copper still. Tequila Fortaleza Blanco Reposado is a splendid result.
