The Salento Rosso ''1943'' Cantina Due Palme is made from historic bush-trained vineyards planted in 1968 and personally tended by President Angelo Maci, in the Cellino San Marco countryside, within the La Mea district. The carefully selected Primitivo and Aglianico grapes are harvested by hand into crates. Some of them are dried in the drying room, where constant ventilation prevents moisture buildup; the high concentration of juice within the grapes thus enhances body and structure. This extraordinary wine, all numbered in bottles, is aged for nine months in new barriques and undergoes further aging in bottle before release.
